Analysis of 104 Consecutive Free Flaps

Abstract
The concept of vascularized free tissue transfer as a single-stage method of reconstruction is not recent. During its first two decades of existence, microvascular free flap surgery has gradually evolved from being an extreme procedure of last
resort to
a first-choice reconstructive procedure.
I reviewed 104cases of microvascular free flaps. CNUH, from July 1990 to November 1993. Free flap transfer for head and neck reconstruction was most common as 39 cases, followed by for lower extremity 35cases, for upper extremity 16 cases and
trunk
1
case. In types of free flap, scapular flap was most common as 35 cases. followed by latissimusi dorsi 12 cases, groin and forearm 11 cases each other, rectus abdominis 7 cases, instep 6 cases, and other miscellaneous flap 22 cases.
